"Every so often we get the opportunity to acquire some exquisite examples of rare and valuable tone woods. These timbers are brought into our shop and stored in climate-controlled rooms where time and nature seasons and conditions them until just the right moment when they are ready to make music. These timbers are so unique they deserve an extraordinary guitar to show off their natural brilliance. To this end we assembled a team of craftsman dedicated to designing the finest examples of the luthiers art. The Takamine Specialty Shop. The guitars created in the Takamine Specialty Shop are very limited production models showing design elements that appear nowhere else in the Takamine line. Some models may be further limited by the stock of a particular wood for which the model was designed. In each case, every detail involved in the process, from selecting the wood to voicing the soundboards is meticulously executed right down to the final fretwork, which is done on a Plek machine to a degree of precision unthinkable a few short years ago.
